Carmakers in Slovakia paid €148 million in income tax last year

Car manufacturers in Slovakia contributed about €148 million in income tax to the state budget last year, according to an analysis drawn up by FinStat. Carmakers paid €108 million in income tax in 2013. Kia Motors Slovakia had the highest value of EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) at 10.3 percent. PSA Peugeot Citroen Slovakia had 5 percent and Volkswagen 5.3 percent. The German carmaker had the lowest level of debt - 40.8 percent, while Peugeot Citroen Slovakia's debt reached 61.5 percent.
