President Kiska at Wagner Festival, meeting Chancellor Merkel

Over the weekend President Andrej Kiska took part in the opening of the 2015 Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth which is one of the oldest and the most prestigious classical music events in Europe. Kiska was invited by Minister President of Bavaria Horst Seehofer. The Slovak President also had an informal meeting with Seehofer, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of the Bundestag, and former German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher. Kiska, who was a guest of honour at the event, was the first Slovak president to attend the grand opening of the festival.
