Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič is on an official visit to Turkey. He is to meet with his counterpart, as well as Prime Minister Erdogan, leading members of the Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council and the mayor of Istanbul. The main aim of the visit is to develop bilateral co-operation, mainly in the areas of the economy, trade, investment, innovation, and research.
The discussions will also touch on issues connected with Turkey’s integration into the European Union. As the Slovak press agency TASR informed, there is also talk of Turkey announcing the cancellation of the visa obligation for Slovaks during this visit.
