Warnings of heatwaves and hailstorms

Heatwaves will continue to plague Slovakia also on Thursday, July 23, and are set to be accompanied with intense hailstorms, prompting the Slovak Hydrometeorological Office (SHMU) to issue first- and second-level warnings for the following days. On Thursday, a second-level heat warning will be in effect for Western and Southern Slovakia in the afternoon, with air temperatures peaking at 35-37 degrees Celsius. Meteorologists also warn of storms that are likely to erupt on Thursday in Western and Central Slovakia as well as in the vicinity of the High Tatra mountain range between noon and 9 p.m. And on Friday it's expected that the whole of Slovakia will face heavy storms.
