The topic of refugees and illegal migrants in Slovakia has taken another step with a private company announcing plans for a Refugee Integration Centre in central Bratislava. The investment firm behind the idea is proposing a 6 to 9 storey tower to be built on Teslova Street near the Ondrej Nepela Arena in the suburb of Ružinov. The facility would offer enough housing and medical care for 500 migrants, including space for a mosque to ensure migrants' religious needs are met. "In the present situation, where we are expecting a wave of immigrants from different cultural backgrounds, it should be seen as a challenge and a new opportunity", said Miroslav Kožuch, the director of the investment company behind the project, to the news portal Trend.sk. The firm is seeking interested investors for the project before finalising or submitting the plans to city authorities.
