Ľudovít Štúr €2 coin for circulation in October

To mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Ľudovít Štúr, who was instrumental in the Slovak national awakening and the codification of the Slovak language, the Slovak central bank (NBS) is issuing new €2 commemorative coin depicting Stur that will come into circulation in October. "The commemorative coin will have the same technical features as the regular €2 coin and will be legal tender in the Slovak Republic and in all euro zone countries," stated NBS. The author of the artwork for the national side of the euro coin is sculptor Ivan Řehák. "State company Kremnica Mint will produce one million commemorative euro coins, and the coin will be put into circulation in October 2015," stated the Slovak central bank.
