Thousands of university graduates are currently looking for work, but many of them are perhaps expecting too much in terms of starting salaries, reads a report from the Pravda daily on Thursday. According to research carried out by the website Platy.sk, graduates currently expect a starting salary of €926 per month on average. The graduates with the highest expectations are those who have completed studies in Informatics at the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. They're seeking an average of €1,448 per month. Graduates of other universities located in the capital also tend to want more than those who have studied elsewhere. Meanwhile, the daily notes that the average monthly salary in Slovakia is less than €900 per month, while a large number of Slovaks earn less than €600. The least demanding students were found to be those graduating in Central European Studies from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, who expect to be paid €627 per month on average.
