Slavín Museum to be opened in 2016

The museum dedicated to the end of WWII at Slavin Memorial that the Defence Ministry intends to build in cooperation with the City of Bratislava is set to be open to the public next year. Defence Minister Martin Glváč stated: "our goal is to have something new at Slavín in the next year - also in order to give visitors to Bratislava a new place to go to," said Glváč. According to Bratislava mayor Ivo Nesrovnal, the project will be made up of a joint exposition of Bratislava City Museum and Military History Institute. "The exhibition will be dedicated to the end of WWII and the liberation of Slovakia. This means 1944-45," said Nesrovnal. The project is to be financed from a number of sources, including the Defence Ministry, Bratislava City and Prime Minister's Reserve Fund.
