A new state-wide temperature record was set on Tuesday (July 7), when 37.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in the Bratislava borough of Mlynska Dolina, reports the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute. It was also an extremely warm night from Tuesday to Wednesday that contributed to high temperature stats. This night was recorded as 'tropical' at almost half of the meteorological stations in Slovakia, the minimum air temperature didn't drop below 20 degrees Celsius, says data from the Institute.
