PM Fico rejects notions of forgiving Greece’s debt

There are more pros than cons relating to Greece staying in the eurozone, but this doesn't mean that we'll write off the country's debt or back away from reforms, said Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at a session of Parliament's committee for European affairs on Tuesday. "No way can the rejection of reforms in the referendum provide Greece with easier access to funds. Writing off the nominal value of the Greek debt is crossing a red line for us," said the Premier, who added that changes in the schedule of repayments would be admissible. However, according to Fico, Slovakia will coordinate its stance with Germany as its largest trading partner.
