Parliamentary Vice-chair Jana Laššáková, who was involved in a road accident on Saturday, is doing better now, said Parliamentary Chairman Peter Pellegrini after paying her a visit in Banská Bystrica's Franklin Roosevelt Hospital on Sunday. The accident reportedly occurred when another vehicle failed to give way to car in which Laššáková was travelling in the back seat. According to Pellegrini, more serious injuries were only prevented by the swift reactions of Laššáková's chauffeur. The hospital's director Miriam Lapuníková said that helicopter transport from the site of the accident near the village of Ozdany (Banska Bystrica region) was required due to suspicions that Laššáková had sustained spinal injuries. Pellegrini further stated that such injuries have not been confirmed, and that Laššáková is expected to spend a few more days in the hospital before she can be released.
