A ten year old girl was fatally shot by her thirteen year old male friend when playing with a loaded gun on Sunday, July 5 in the eastern Slovak village of Brestov nad Laborcom (Prešov region). The news portal noviny.sk reports that, despite attempted first aid, paramedics were unable to save the life of the ten year old named Sára after being shot in the chest. The children allegedly wanted to have a look at a grandfather's gun. "Upon arrival [to the scene], rescuers attempted for many minutes to resuscitate the young child, but unfortunately they did not succeed", said spokesman for the Emergency Medical Service Operational Centre Boris Chmel.
