We must cut red tape for self employed, agree politicians

Easing the red-tape burden for the self-employed, reducing levies and engaging people with practical experience in drafting laws were singled out as measures needed to improve the business environment by several politicians who appeared on TA3's discussion show 'V politike' (In Politics) on Sunday. Christian Democrat (KDH) caucus chairman Pavol Abrhan said that the state needs to adopt measures conducive to prompting people to run a business and create jobs, adding that the tax burden needs to be reduced. Slovak National Party (SNS) chairman Andrej Danko singled out the need to cut down on the paperwork that self-employed individuals face. "As things stand now sole traders barely have any time left for their craft due to the paperwork burden", he said. Sieť party vice-chairman Andrej Hrnčiar suggested that in order to bridge regional gaps investors should receive tax relief in unemployment hotspots such as the Gemer and Novohrad areas. He also stressed the need to complete infrastructure. OLaNO head Igor Matovič advocated the view that laws that have to do with the business environment should be tabled by people who have hands on experience in running a business and creating jobs.
