Residents in the south western town of Komárno witnessed firsthand what they believe to be a police raid against illegal migrants on Tuesday (June 30), according to the tabloid Plus Jeden Den. "A policeman came out of nowhere into our office asking to see my ID card and wanting to inspect all areas [of our building]. He even looked in the toilet", said an assistant at a local travel agency in the town which is situated on the Hungarian border. According to the tabloid there has been an increase in the number of police patrolling the town and an increase in preventative stops by police in vehicles. This follows from events during the weekend whereby Slovak police caught 27 migrants on the territory of Slovakia, while Hungarian police detained 3,300 transiting through Hungary.
