Slovak President Andrej Kiska was awarded prestigious honour 'Freedom of the City of London' on Tuesday in the City of London, Presidential Office press department informed TASR on the same day. Among the holders of this honour, which first grant is estimated to have taken place in 1237, are personalities such as Sir Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Nelson Mandela, Margaret Thatcher, Princess Diana, Bill Gates, Placido Domingo, J. K. Rowling, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. President Kiska said at the ceremony that he was glad, because this honour - an honorary freeman citizenship - statesmen don't get very often. He said that the honour represents the understanding that all successful people should think about philanthropy - how to give back to the society a part of what they received. President Kiska was also received by Prince Charles at Windsor Castle on Monday, presenting the prince with an official gift in the shape of a photograph depicting Spiš Castle.
