Public entities and those that received public subsidies in May announced tenders with the largest overall monthly value since the beginning of the year, according to an analysis from CEEC Research. Drawn up according to data from the Public Procurements Office (UVO) it concluded that as many as 612 tenders worth a total of €657 million were announced in May. "The value of commissions announced over the first five months of the year fell by 4.8 percent when compared to the same period of last year", said CEEC Research director Jiri Vacek, adding that this was due to a change in a law that merged so-called 'under-threshold commissions' with 'under-limit commissions' and also introduced changes to the publishing of information on tenders. "If we compared figures valid before this change was introduced, we'd see an increase in the value of public tenders by almost one fifth," said Vacek.
