Radičová hopes justice will be served thoroughly in other cases, too

Former Prime Minister Iveta Radičová (2010-12) praised law enforcement and judicial bodies for their successful work in prosecuting and sentencing her former advisor Martin Novotny to jail. According to Radičová, the approach of law enforcement bodies was thorough and she expects to see a similar tenacity and resolve also in other cases. Radičová responded in this manner to the Thursday's verdict of the Supreme Court, which sentenced Martin Novotny and Igor Liska, a former Slovak ambassador to Kenya, to unconditional 18 and 15 month prison sentences, respectively, for taking a bribe to ensure subsidies for the completion of a biathlon course in Osrblie, central Slovakia. Apart from this, both will have to pay fines equalling €15,000. If they don't do this, they'll spend an additional six months in prison.
