New law targets smelly bus & train travellers

As of November this year public transport staff will have the authority to remove dirty and malodorous visitors from Slovak railway stations if they are seen to be disruptive to other passengers. This follows from an amendment to the laws on travel which Members of Parliament moved into the second reading on Tuesday. The new provisions will also apply to bus stations, with the step being introduced after growing complaints from the travelling public. At present, the Ministry of Transport does not have the authority to combat the problem of malodorous citizens, who, through their clothing, appearance or unpleasant odour are deemed to hinder the travel of passengers.
