Justice Minister Tomas Borec has appointed Michal Truban as chairman to the Specialised Criminal Court based in Pezinok. The appointment comes after Truban emerged victorious as the only candidate during a selection procedure on June 2, and was appointed for a five year term. "All five members of the selection commission noted in unison that Michal Truban had been successful in the selection procedure," said ministry spokesperson Alexandra Donevova. Truban headed the now defunct Special Court dealing with organised crime and corruption 2007-09. Borec appointed Truban on the day that the term in office of outgoing chairman Oldrich Kozlik came to an end. Kozlik initially sought another term only to retract his application later on.
