Bulgarians killed in WWII commemorated in Hronský Beňadik

A commemorative event featuring the laying of wreaths took place at a memorial of Bulgarian partisans in Hronský Beňadik (Banská Bystrica region) on Saturday with representatives of the Bulgarian embassy in attendance. Mayor Ľubomír Krovina told the TASR news agency that people in the town will never forget the Bulgarian heroes who fell during the Slovak National Uprising, and that many of them are also buried in the town. Krovina noted that the town used to have far more intense relations with Bulgaria, and he'd like to see them revived once more. After the commemoration at the memorial on the central square, the event continued with the 33rd year of a march through the Pohronský Inovec mountains, which are part of the Slovenské Stredohorie ranges of the Inner Western Carpathians. The hike also featured a tour of paths that were used by partisans during the Second World War.
