Low-cost airline Wizz Air is opening a base at Košice airport, connecting the eastern Slovak city with Milan-Bergamo airport and Doncaster Sheffield in the UK. Juraj Toth of the airport's marketing department noted that the Hungarian air carrier, as the largest no-frills airline in Central and Eastern Europe, is placing an Airbus A320 at Košice airport, will operate 14 flights weekly and give jobs to 30 people. Wizz Air has been operating a regular Košice-London service since September 2013.
