Slovakia stagnating in competitiveness

Slovakia occupies a place in the last quarter of the latest competitiveness chart, behind the Czech Republic and Poland, but still ahead of Hungary. "Prospective investors may tell themselves that the climate here is not the same as ten years ago when we were the economic tiger. We namely behave as if we did not care about competitiveness," says Martin Reguli of the F. A. Hayek Foundation, which cooperated on the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2015. Slovakia is 46th, which is a fall of one spot. Although the decline is not dramatic, the ranking confirms stagnation. We also lag behind results from 2007-2009 when we occupied 30th position.
