We mustn't let terrorists force their perception of reality on us, and we can only stop this from happening by close cooperation between European and Muslim states, Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák said at a joint ministerial session of the European Union (EU) and the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) in Doha, Qatar, on Sunday. Lajčák added that he realises that it's Muslim countries that are affected by terrorism the most. At the same time, he acknowledged that terrorism and extremism aren't related to religion; rather, they are social and economic problems attendant with globalisation. "We face terrorism together - the EU and the Persian Gulf countries - and we can only vanquish it with joint efforts, hence it's key to expand our collaboration from dialogue on trade to the dialogue on security issues too", said Lajčák.
