Focus Poll: Governing Smer Lost 4.2 percentage points since April

The governing Smer-SD party has lost more than 4 percentage points in Focus agency's May poll when compared to a survey carried out by the same agency in April. Smer received 33.2 percent in the poll, which translates to 58 seats in the 150-member Parliament. Back in April, Smer stood at 37.4 percent. A total of eight parties would have got into Parliament if a general election had taken place during this time. The next election is scheduled for March 2016. Radoslav Prochazka's extra-parliamentary Siet (Network) would have come second with 10.7 percent (18 MPs). The Christian Democrats would have been third with 9.4 percent (16 MPs). The Ordinary People Party (OLaNO), and the mainly ethnic Hungarian parties Most-Hid and SMK would also have made it to Parliament. The nationalist Slovak National Party (SNS), which has been outside Parliament since 2010, appears to have established itself again as it gained 7.3 percent (13 MPs). Liberals will close the group of parties to make it to Parliament.
