Slovakia's permanent EU representation to have new address

Slovakia's permanent representation at the European Union in Brussels will temporarily be situated in rented premises, with the new building to be officially opened by Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák on Monday, May 18. The institution will move not only in connection with the ongoing preparations for the upcoming presidency of the country in the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2016, but due to catastrophic condition of the building that the current representation is currently based at. As regards expenditures, the lease agreement signed in July 2014 stipulates that the annual rent at the building, which area totals 7,635 square metres, is €1.64 million.
