Following a tense but ultimately bitter defeat against the United States on Tuesday evening, Slovakia has been forced to bow out of the world hockey championships. During an unpredictable game which was tied 4:4 at the end of the third period, the American ice hockey team shot the winning goal with the final score being 5:4 in the last minute of the overtime. This loss, coupled with the recent defeat against Norway, Russia, and Finland means Slovakia was unable to advance to the playoffs and is subsequently out of the world hockey championship.
