The debut of the Slovak film Vychladnutie (Out) has been selected for the 11th Cinéfondation L'Atelier, taking place as part of the Cannes International Film Festival. The film is being directed by FAMU graduate György Kristóf and is currently in preparation for shooting. The film tells the tale of a 50 year old man living a dull life in a small eastern Slovak city. Faced with the loss of his job, the man follows his dream to work on a fishing boat. The budget for the film is €1.2 million and is supported by the Slovak Audiovisual Fund. Production is planned for October 2015 and the premiere is expected to take place in 2016. It is the first time Cannes film curators have placed a Slovak film among the 15 most promising projects of the year from all over around the world. The film is currently a Slovak/Hungarian/French/Latvian/Czech coproduction.
