The shares of telecommunications company Slovak Telekom will not be sold on the stock exchange. Finance Minister Peter Kažimír informed after the Cabinet session on Thursday that the government received a binding bid from a strategic investor on Thursday morning but the minister did not reveal its identity. The bidder offered more than the yield generated by demand on the stock exchange. "More is more," Kažimír remarked. "The information circulating on the telecoms market alleges that the stake will be bought by Deutsche Telekom. Also Bloomberg reported it, referring to three sources. The German company controls a 51% stake in Slovak Telekom, which it purchased roughly for 1 billion Euro in 2000.
