Average property price continued to rise

The average price of housing or property rose for the third quarter in a row, reaching €1,226 per square metre at the end of March, according to data released by the Slovak Central Bank (NBS). This is a 0.4 percent increase in comparison to the same period of last year. Flats, rather than houses, contributed to the latest increase in housing prices. They are on a par with mid-2007 levels. In terms of regions, developments in housing property prices differed. The most marked rise was measured in the Košice region where the average price reached €941 per square metre while Prešov region saw the steepest fall to €728 per square metre.
