Civic initiative wants to see referendum on restoring Czechoslovakia

A civil initiative called Czechoslovakia 2018 has emerged in order to have referendums held in Slovakia and the Czech Republic with the aim of restoring the joint state on the 100th anniversary of its establishment in 1918. The organizers want to launch petitions to this effect in both countries. They need at least 150,000 signatures in Slovakia and 50,000 in the Czech Republic to oblige the two states to hold referendums. If the organizers collect the required numbers of signatures, they intend to present the petitions to Slovak and Czech Presidents Andrej Kiska and Miloš Zeman, respectively.
