Global monitoring of electronic communication of citizens is unconstitutional

The state cannot globally monitor electronic communication of all citizens, says a decision of the Constitutional Court, which complied with a group of MPs represented by Freedom and Solidarity MP Martin Poliačik. The deputies challenged in 2012 certain provisions of the Electronic Communications Act, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Police Corps Act. The Constitutional Court has now decided that these provisions in the laws allowing such global monitoring are not constitutional.
