Slovakia to send more humanitarian aid to Nepal

Slovakia will send humanitarian aid worth over €95,000 to Nepal, which was hit by a devastating earthquake on Saturday, reads a decision of the Government from this Wednesday. The Interior Ministry has set aside up to 4.5 tonnes of material towards providing emergency accommodation and food for 100 people worth almost €63,000 from its reserves. The Health Ministry will provide equipment for surgical equipment to the tune of €30,000. Meanwhile, the Government still needs to decide how to transport the aid to Nepal. On Wednesday the Government's special aircraft has been denied permission to land in Kathmandu, stated Interior Minister Robert Kaliňák adding that Slovak pilots lack proper training and experience with landing at airports such as the one in Kathmandu. According to currently available information, the massive earthquake in Nepal claimed the lives of at least 5,000 people and left over 10,000 people injured.
