Countries of the Visegrad Four Group(V4) - the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia - need closer cooperation in common airspace protection, their defence ministers agreed at a meeting on Thursday. Slovakia and the Czech Republic have already begun to work on a common airspace protection project called „Spoločne Nebo" - 'Common Sky', that can intercept and accompany aircraft to the external frontiers of the common airspace across the Czecho-Slovak border. In addition, the ministers discussed defence planning and the development of joint exercises and agreed that there will be joint exercises held yearly in one of the V4 countries. Slovakia, which holds the V4 presidency until June 30, will host a common exercise that will focus on the protection of territorial integrity.
