At the end of March 286,100 people were on material need, representing 5.28% of Slovakia's population. This figure includes individuals and their dependents such as minors. The districts of Revúca, Rimavská Sobota and Rožnava topped the list of those with the largest ratio of such people in their population. In Revúca one in five residents is in material need receiving the basic form of welfare benefits which is €61.60 per month for a single person and €160.40 for a couple with up to four children. Traditionally Bratislava has the lowest number of such people 0.74 percent.
