Slovakia is among the least successful countries of the EU in filling selected managerial positions of the EU institutions. On the contrary, the most positions are filled by representatives of the old member states such as Germany or the United Kingdom. These findings came from a survey conducted by the Brussels think-tank Bruegel. It followed representations for selected management positions in the European Commission and the European Parliament from 1999 to 2015 by country. While in 2009 Slovakia had three representatives in management positions within the Commission and in Parliament, in 2015 Slovakia has only one official in an EU control position. This is Juraj Nociar, who is Head of the Cabinet of European Commissions Vice-president Maroš Šefčovič.
