President invited Pope Francis to Slovakia

For the first time in office, Slovak President Andrej Kiska visited the Vatican City on Thursday, where he was received by Pope Francis. They both agreed that the church has to be open to all people. Regarding the openness of the church, Andrej Kiska mentioned, among other things, baptisms of the children of single mothers and Holy Communion for divorcees. Another topic of conversation was the suspension of archbishop of Trnava Robert Bezak. The Slovak president greeted the pope in the name of all believers in Slovakia and also invited him to visit the country. "The Pope thanked and sent his greetings to everyone in Slovakia", wrote Andrej Kiska on his Facebook profile. President Kiska presented Pope Francis with a unique gold-plated photo book showcasing the work of Slovak photographer Filip Kulisev. "Gold-plated books are made nowhere else in the world but Slovakia ... Every book is an original. The handiwork and skill of the creators preserve the colours for centuries, at least two hundred years", said the photographer.
