Giving a tip in a restaurant, café or pub is a must for half of all Slovaks. Fourteen percent of them are even willing to let the waiter up to ten euro on the table, according to a survey done by the agency STEM / MARK for Home Credit. Slovaks display such generosity when they want to reward restaurant employees for great food and drink, along with helpful and attentive staff. Only 4% of Slovaks never leave any tips. In Slovakia "the custom" is that the value of the tip ranges between 5 and 10% of the total price of the meal and drinks consumed.
