No additional companies linked to Enel Group shall earn a contract on the completion of the third and fourth reactors of the Mochovce nuclear plant, according to the Hospodárske noviny daily. Representatives of the state shareholders in the power utility Slovenské Elektrárne will support the proposal of the majority owner Enel to increase the budget of the project by €260 million only under this condition.
“Contracts will be concluded exclusively with suppliers that are neither directly nor indirectly controlled by companies in the Italian group Enel, which holds the rest of the stock in the power utility,” said the spokesman for the Economy Ministry Stanislav Jurkovič. The Slovak Government agreed to the budget increase to avoid the potential loss of 10,000 jobs.
