Bratislava castle lights shut off to join the Earth Hour

The lights at the Bratislava Castle turned off for one hour on Saturday, as the Slovak Parliament symbolically join the international Earth Hour project. "We need to protect the environment, in which we live, because the next generations will live in it, too," said Parliamentary Chairman Peter Pellegrini. Millions of people around the world shut off their lights on Saturday to raise awareness about the importance of climate and environment protection. The project organized by the World Wildlife Fund begun its history in Sydney in 2007 and gradually it has gained global stature, with 7,000 cities in 162 countries joining last year.
