Slovakia no more number one for foreign investors

Slovakia's last year position as the most attractive country for foreign investors in Central and Eastern Europe has deteriorated this year. A survey conducted by representatives of foreign chambers of commerce in Slovakia sees it now in second place, behind the Czech Republic. Investors explain that the Czech Republic focused on infrastructure projects and efforts to limit red tape while Slovakia introduced the minimum tax, which increases the extent of bureaucracy. 64 percent of investors evaluate the economic situation in Slovakia as satisfactory. Merely 22 percent perceive the situation positively and 14 percent say it is bad, shows the survey presented by the Slovak-Austrian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
