The Cabinet held a midweek away session in Trenčín where it allocated €13 million within the region for various purposes. The Trenčín region that hosted the ministers on Wednesday received €5 million for the fight against disasters and to modernize technology of volunteer fire-fighters in the region. Moreover, €2.2 million was released for dozens of projects designed to improve the socio-economic situation in region. The projects include the reconstruction of a bridge in Považská Bystrica, repairs to secondary schools and the preparation of the Važská cycling route, writes the Hospodárske Noviny daily. The Government was hosted by Trenčín Region (TSK) Governor Jaroslav Baška (Smer-SD), who said that despite the relatively low unemployment rate in the region, which is below the national average, the region is troubled by a large number of unemployed young people under 29. The money for the Trenčín region will come from a number of ministers, who will allocate resources from their own budget chapters.
