Turmoil at Žilina hospital results in personnel changes

Disenchanted with the situation at Žilina Faculty Hospital, 25 nurses from the hospital's intensive care unit handed in their notices on Friday. They are complaining about being totally exhausted from frequent overtime work and the hospital being short-staffed. Prior to the resignation of nurses 13 doctors at the hospital's internal medicine ward filed their resignation in early March in protest against what they deemed to be cost concerns dictating patient care. The latest appeal of Health Minister Viliam Čislák to the hospital's director Štefan Volák to resign is a definitive confirmation of who is the culprit for the situation that's arisen at the facility, said head of the Doctors Trade Union Association Peter Visolajský on Sunday.
