A Hungarian military airplane made a safe unscheduled landing at Košice airport on Friday afternoon. The emergency landing was prompted by a malfunction on the Swedish Gripen fighter aircraft. The aircraft of the Hungarian Air Force is now at the airport, with Hungarian specialists expected to come and fix the malfunction. "It was one of two airplanes that were on their way back from practice flights in Sweden to its home airbase in Kecskemet (Hungary). The pilot decided to land in Košice due to an undisclosed malfunction on his plane," said airport's marketing chief Juraj Tóth. Slovakia is also to begin official talks on the rental of flying hours in Gripen jet fighters with Sweden.
