More than 180 Slovak primary and secondary schools in Slovakia have joined the eTwinning programme which promotes school collaboration in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by providing support, tools and services for schools. Available in twenty-five languages, the eTwinning Portal now has the involvement of nearly 170,000 members and over 5,324 projects between two or more schools across Europe.
Slovak students and their foreign counterparts collaborated on 536 international projects over the course of last school year. “Under the guidance of 287 teachers, thousands of pupils and students joined the programme and were able to make progress in foreign languages and in using current information and communications technologies,” said Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport spokesman Michal Kona. The eTwinning partnership programme has been supported by European Commission since 2005.
