The Energy Union will feature as one of the most prominent issues during Slovakia's presidency over the EU in the second half of 2016, agreed participants of the third workshop of the National Convention on the EU in Bratislava on Thursday. A challenge for Slovakia will be to find confluence between the various interests and priorities of individual countries. According to Foreign Ministry State Secretary Peter Javorčík, while Slovakia is mainly interested in resolving energy security, Nordic countries focus more on improving energy efficiency and climatic goals. "Even though many things have improved over the past few years, resources still haven't been diversified sufficiently", he said.
