The number of visitors to the Tatra Ice Dome in Hrebienok, in the High Tatra Mountains has set a new record this year. The top attraction of the winter season has been visited by 165,000 people over 2.5 months. Thanks to its cooling system the Dome is due to be open until Easter. More than 47 tonnes of ice were needed to build the Ice Dome. Last year, the Dome was visited by 100,000 tourists in 83 days. Tatra residents believe that March won't let them down and that the number of visitors this year will reach the 200,000 threshold.
