Institute for Vocational Training to get more powers in dual education

The State Institute of Vocational Education will see its powers boosted under the planned dual education system, Education, Science, Research and Sport Minister Juraj Draxler confirmed on Wednesday. Employers will be able to contact the Institute if they fail to obtain a certificate enabling them to join the dual education system from professional organisations. Originally, the power to oversee the certification process of employers was to be given solely to professional organisations. However, as the Minister adds they have come up with a compromise proposal in which the powers of the state controlled Institute organisation will be boosted. Employers are still holding talks with the Finance Ministry on the form and volume of the financial motivation for them to join the system. Marián Jusko of the Republican Union of Employers stated that the motivation could come in the form of tax relief provided to a company if a student who went through training at the company is also given a job there.
