Everyone has a right to their own personal world view, but whereas liberals want to be left in peace by everyone, want to live as they wish and don't interfere in the lives of others, conservatives and Christians have got it into their heads that they should tell the whole world how to live, MEP and chairman of the Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party Richard Sulík has said on TABLET.TV. According to Sulík, one positive step is the adoption of the Government's strategy on human rights, which mentions the rights of unmarried couples even though the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) and the extra-parliamentary Slovak National Party (SNS) argued that this disrespects the opinion of those who took part in the referendum on the family in February. "This could be viewed as a rather provocative move, but in my opinion it's a correct one, as that's the way that our society will develop. I consider the whole referendum to be very retrograde, a sort of return to the last century", said Sulík. Sulík also addressed the issue of a memorial dedicated to controversial communist official Vasil Biľak that was unveiled in Krajná Bystrá (Prešov region). "To praise Vasil Biľak certainly isn't right regardless of what people living in his village of origin think", said Sulík.
