Tourists seeking information on events, monuments and accommodation in Banská Štiavnica (Banská Bystrica region) will be able to find the information on the town's new website banskastiavnica.travel, TASR learnt on Tuesday. Banská Štiavnica's town hall is looking to ensure that the website becomes the go-to source of information for visitors about the town. Meanwhile, the town's current official website should be targeted at locals. "Banskastiavnica.sk should gradually place its focus on local citizens by the end of this year, which means that it'll primarily contain information for local citizens. Meanwhile, the 'travel' website is directed at the town's visitors", said the town hall's Rastislav Marko. Igor Kuhn of the local tourism organisation 'Štiavnica Region' said that the website for tourists contains as many as 430 web pages and includes a booking system where visitors can choose from over 60 accommodation facilities in Banská Štiavnica and its environs. Instead of .com or .sk, the new website utilises the less common .travel suffix and is available in English, Slovak, Hungarian, and German.
