Public Administration obliged to use a centralised Electronic Contracting System

The Electronic Contracting System (EKS), which has been in operation for a month, is obligatory for the whole public administration system as of March 1. It should make the process of public procurements more efficient. All state and regional government institutions are obliged to purchase ordinary goods and services priced between €1,000 and €207,000 as well as construction work that costs up to €5.186 million via the e-market. The tool is designed to eliminate the possibility of manipulating the public procurement process in the interest of particular companies.
